By the time I was fourteen … the nail in my wall would no longer support the weight of the rejection slips impaled upon it. I replaced the nail with a spike and kept on writing. -Stephen King, “On Writing”
I’ve gotten four rejections, but I’m excited each time I read them. Inspired by Stephen King’s fond memory of hanging rejections on the wall, I did the same, although it’s on a less menacing flower-tack. The rejections I’ve gotten all encourage me to write more, and say that my material is good. What a rejection means to me is a step closer to being better at what I do.
